18 March 2016: New Medicines Review - Health Committee sends findings to Government
The Scottish Parliament’s Health and Sport Committee has written to the Health Secretary Shona Robison MSP following its recent evidence sessions on Access to New Medicines.
In the letter, Convener Duncan McNeil MSP says it is vital to ensure the best and fairest price for medicines is achieved as early in the new medicines approval process; that the Committee welcomes the collaborative approach across the 14 area drug and therapeutic committees; that it is important that there is consistency and clarity around Individual Patient Treatment decisions across the NHS boards, and hopes that the Peer Approved Clinical System will ensure that there is consistency in the decisions taken.
