The agenda for this year’s Pharmacy management National Forum for Scotland has been published and free registration has just opened.

Keynote speaker at the event at Dunblane on August 30^th is Chief Pharmaceutical Officer for Scotland, Professor Rose Marie Parr, giving her review one year on from the publication of the Achieving Excellence strategy.

The morning plenaries then continue with Gordon Rushworth of the Highland Pharmacy Education and Research Centre examining how pharmacists can best take forward their clinical and diagnostic skills, and a presentation of the RPS Forward Plans for supporting pharmacists in Scotland by Scottish Director, Alex MacKinnon. 

Delegates will get to choose from a total of ten different subject seminars for the two one-hour parallel satellite sessions in the afternoon, covering a diverse range of topics.

The agenda has been pulled together by a steering group of senior Scottish practitioners. Chairman of organisers Pharmacy Management, Ted Butler, says the Forum has an important place in supporting pharmacists to meet the increasing demands of their jobs:

“The Scotland Forum has established itself as one of the key policy and practice events for our profession in Scotland. It offers an opportunity for busy practitioners to pause and take stock, to hear varying views on the next steps for pharmacy here and to meet a rich mix of delegates from across Scotland.

“This year we have more subjects under discussion than ever before, which we are confident will give delegates some really valuable insights into how we can stay one step ahead in whatever aspect of patient care we’re involved in.”

Again this year the event is free for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. The event is being funded by the pharmaceutical industry through the purchase of exhibition stands and sponsored satellite sessions.
